‎الدكتور محمد جواد البنا استشاري جراحة القلب، ويتمتع بخبرة دولية تمتد لأكثر من خمسة وعشرين عاماً. انضم في يناير 2026 إلى مستشفى العدان بدولة الكويت، حيث يعمل ضمن فريق قصور القلب وزراعة القلب، وكان ضمن الفريق الذي أجرى أول عملية زراعة قلب في الكويت. ويختص في جراحات القلب طفيفة التوغل والجراحة الروبوتية.

أسّس الدكتور البنا وحدة جراحة القلب في مستشفى جابر الأحمد، وتولى قيادتها حتى انتقاله، حيث أسهم في بناء أحد البرامج الحديثة لجراحة القلب في الدولة، وقاد تطوير برنامج الجراحة الروبوتية وخدمات الدعم الدوري الميكانيكي المؤقت.

حصل على بكالوريوس الطب والجراحة مع مرتبة الشرف من جامعة ليدز، وأكمل تدريب الإقامة في جراحة القلب بجامعة تورونتو، ثم تدريباً متقدماً في الجراحة طفيفة التوغل بجامعة ماكماستر. وهو زميل الكلية الملكية للجراحين في كندا (FRCSC)، كما حصل على ماجستير إدارة الأعمال من كلية لندن للأعمال.

إلى جانب عمله السريري، يهتم الدكتور البنا بتعزيز الوعي الصحي والقيادة الطبية، ويسعى إلى تطوير منظومة الرعاية الصحية في الخليج من خلال دمج الخبرة الطبية بالقيادة الاستراتيجية والابتكار في التقنيات الطبية والذكاء الاصطناعي.

Dr. Mohammad J. Albanna is a Consultant Cardiac Surgeon with more than twenty-four years of international experience. As of January 2026, he joined Adan Hospital, Kuwait, where he serves as a member of the Heart Failure and Transplant Team. He specializes in minimally invasive and robotic cardiac surgery and was previously part of the team that performed the first cardiac transplant in Kuwait.

He served as the Founding Division Head of Cardiac Surgery at Jaber AlAhmad Hospital, where he established and built one of Kuwait’s modern cardiac surgery programs. During his tenure, he led the development of the robotic cardiac surgery service and the temporary mechanical circulatory support program, contributing significantly to the advancement of national cardiac care infrastructure.

Dr. Albanna earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB with honors) from the University of Leeds. He completed his Cardiac Surgery Residency at the University of Toronto and pursued advanced fellowship training in minimally invasive cardiac surgery at McMaster University. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC).

Throughout his career, he has combined clinical excellence with program development, surgical education, and healthcare leadership. He has played an active role in training future surgeons and advancing foundational surgical science education.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Albanna is deeply committed to cardiovascular health awareness. Through initiatives such as the DrHe♥️art platform and his digital media projects, he has contributed to raising more than $150,000 for health campaigns and educational initiatives. As a subject-matter expert, mentor, and healthcare leader, he regularly delivers lectures, keynotes, and media contributions to medical students, healthcare professionals, and organizations across the region.

His media presence has organically grown into an international audience of more than 120,000 followers across multiple social media platforms under the handle @drmjalbanna.

Dr. Albanna’s long-term vision is to help shape and build transformative healthcare institutions in the Gulf region. He seeks to integrate medical expertise with strategic leadership training, leveraging innovation in MedTech, Big Data, Robotics, and Artificial Intelligence to enhance care delivery and system performance.
